Turkey Art

My kids have the whole week off from school, which is a welcome break on many levels.  It also means keeping them busy.

While I enjoy doing activities with my children, I also believe in encouraging them to be independent, whether exploring outside or finding something to do inside.

My youngest would prefer that I prep all her crafts, that I declare what we will be doing, and that I give all my spare time crafting her projects in tandem with her.

When I came home yesterday and found her handmade turkey, made from cardboard, popsicle sticks, and glitter, I was thrilled.

She conceived the idea on her own, gathered materials, and made it without needing reassurance. Praise God, we’ve turned a corner…time will tell how big of one.

I love that turkey in all its arty goodness!!

About lionsdaughter

I like to make things, lots of things, but not all things. I love to sew, knit, embroider, take pictures, scrapbook, dye fibers, work clay in the summer, garden. I want to try weaving, spinning, and stain glass work. I have no interest in auto body, upholstery, or tanning (either working animal skin or purposefully darkening my own).
