Thanksgiving 2012

Thanksgiving then:

I made this cross stitch a few years ago.  I was completely attracted to the vibrant pumpkins, and I liked the pastoral look of the pilgrim maiden.  It’s all a little too idealized, but that’s okay.

Thanksgiving now:

Our third annual Turkey Day 5K in Minneapolis.  I didn’t catch the number of people there; we’re guessing 20,000-30,000.  The energy was good; the weather was better – an outrageously balmy 52 degrees in Minneapolis in November — highly unusual; and I reached a personal goal to not walk in a 5k.  I trained with active.com’s mobile app Couch-to-5k program, and I loved it.  Will continue on that quest as my body is rewarding me too much to ignore the benefits of running.

I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful!

About lionsdaughter

I like to make things, lots of things, but not all things. I love to sew, knit, embroider, take pictures, scrapbook, dye fibers, work clay in the summer, garden. I want to try weaving, spinning, and stain glass work. I have no interest in auto body, upholstery, or tanning (either working animal skin or purposefully darkening my own).
