Mosiac Monday

Mosiacs – I love them.  Love the texture, the artistry, the history.

But I’ve decided I don’t love making them.  They have a big “been there, done that” checkmark.  I don’t really like working with glass, which means glass shards sometimes in my feet or hands.  Creating with glue doesn’t speak to me much anymore.

But I have had a languishing project of a mosiac tabletop that needed finishing, so I volunteered at the school last Friday and took it in as demonstration because I helped third graders grout too (a whole other story: took forever, but good experience).  Good news for me: La table est fini.  Finished!!!

And here’s the table in its home in my sewing room:

Lastly, I’m participating in a swap originating from Mary Jane’s Farm, and look at my sweet first package:

LOVE that yarn…thinking it will become a beret.

About lionsdaughter

I like to make things, lots of things, but not all things. I love to sew, knit, embroider, take pictures, scrapbook, dye fibers, work clay in the summer, garden. I want to try weaving, spinning, and stain glass work. I have no interest in auto body, upholstery, or tanning (either working animal skin or purposefully darkening my own).
