Christmas Morning

Ya Hoo!  One of the gifts I wanted this year was Jane Austen Knits, an Interweave magazine.  And my sweet 12-year-old daughter guided her father to our little independent bookstore in search of it.

So, now the question is what will I knit first???  This is silly, but I feel a strong loyalty to Pride and Prejudice, so I based my decision off what is based on Austen’s (ahem) best novel.  Admittedly, I was a little disappointed by the P and P selections as two are named after Lydia (the sister with the least sense and no filter when she speaks) and three are named after locations in the novel.  In the end I chose “Georgiana” – a lovely shawl based on Mr. Darcy’s elegant younger sister.

The nerd in me had a small thought to “Knit Everything in the Issue!!!!!!!!!!!”  but then my wiser self said that was altogether unnecessary.  And besides I don’t like all the projects, but I do like most of them, so it’s …. just ….. so …… tempting……

Hope your Christmas is lovely and relaxing.

About lionsdaughter

I like to make things, lots of things, but not all things. I love to sew, knit, embroider, take pictures, scrapbook, dye fibers, work clay in the summer, garden. I want to try weaving, spinning, and stain glass work. I have no interest in auto body, upholstery, or tanning (either working animal skin or purposefully darkening my own).
