Vintage Thread (and a word about the weather)

I have a very small stash of vintage thread that was once my mother’s.  I’m ambivilent about using it because I don’t want to waste it on frivilous projects.  Except that on Saturday I picked up a quilt that I had machine quilted by the kind Carol at Elly’s Sheared Sheep.  I’ll be using this lovely eggplant thread to finish this quilt.

I’ll be working on the binding this week . . .  in the air conditioning . . . since the region where I live is in a heatwave and the humidity is supposedly higher than the Amazon jungle.   I love love love the heat and humidity — but not the exasperated looks from salesclerks when I respond to their common and usually negatively tinged remarks about the weather.

Anyhoo, I won’t be sewing the binding outside, though I’m sure I’ll be doing a bit of embroidery and button attaching on the deck later this week.

About lionsdaughter

I like to make things, lots of things, but not all things. I love to sew, knit, embroider, take pictures, scrapbook, dye fibers, work clay in the summer, garden. I want to try weaving, spinning, and stain glass work. I have no interest in auto body, upholstery, or tanning (either working animal skin or purposefully darkening my own).
